Umeå is located in northern Sweden and is the capital of Västerbotten. With a population of roughly 130,000 people and a University with 40,000 students, Umeå is a young and vibrant university town. There is also a large teaching hospital located across from the university which is responsible for highly specialized care and service for 876,000 people who live in an area that corresponds to more than half of Sweden.
Umeå offers an abundance of things to do whether you enjoy being in the city center or spending time in nature. During the Summer months, the sun barely sets, so look forward to many hours of daylight upon your visit.
